What is available for young people to help them get fit these days?
Although we middle-olds may complain that young 'uns 'have got it all' these days, one thing many of our children and young people are finding it hard to do, is to get up and about and develop an enjoyment of getting and keeping fit.
A BBC article, 'Fitness for Children and Young People' makes some interesting points about how we need to encourage children and young people to take up anything they enjoy - and Skipping4Schools is trying to do just that.
Through our close working relationship with Tonbridge and West Kent School Sports Partnership, next month we'll be visiting a college in Kent to work with children who want to do better, who want to live better and who want above all to get fit.
Skipping4Schools has been contacted to put a creative and constructive fitness programme together for these young people, to engage them in an activity that's fun but different, to help them tackle any weight problems, to help boost self-esteem levels and also to help educate pupils on the importance of a healthy diet. If you need our input, get in touch with us and let us see how we can help.
We'll let you know how it goes!
