WOW! An amazing day, with a fantastic turnout and nearly 40,000 children across the North and North West of England hopped, skipped and jumped for 3 minutes, as part of the Skip4Life project, our version of the Youth Sport Trust's Mass Participation initiative on Friday 2nd July, 2010.
On the last day of National Sports Week, Skipping4Schools went to Holy Cross High School in Chorley to join Hywel & Jamie, Rock FM's grooviest, anarchic afternoon presenters to lead 3 minutes of skipping with all of years 7 and 8. Even the Lord Mayor ventured to pick up a rope in support of the 3 minute skip!

Skipping4Schools worked closely with 12 of the 14 Lancashire Sports Partnerships and their PDMs to create a training programme for their teachers to take into their schools to challenge and inspire their school children and thus, Skip4Life was born.
Skipping4Schools also worked hard to create a sustainable element to the package offered to the Partnerships which consisted of a set of ropes, a training DVD, a 'Teaching the Teachers' training session as well as a mini competition and cross-curricular resources pack.
Craig Vickers, PDM for the Preston SSP and co-lead PDM for the Skip4Life project, said "Working with Skipping4schools on the Skip4Life project was a really pleasurable, fulfilling and professional experience. The quality of support, delivery and resources really ensured that the project was an overwhelming success, we look forward to developing the professional and business relationship with them in the future."
