In consultation with a number of teachers, SSCOs and PDMs, we have created an 8-week Skipping Development Programme that can be used by your Midday Supervisors, your TAs, indeed your Yr 5s and Yr 6s can use them to help others develop and improve their skipping.
We also have our fun competition 'Hop to the Top' which offers children of all ages the opportunity to take responsibility for their own success.
These resources are sent to schools FREE OF CHARGE after we've been invited for a skipping coaching day at your school and will help ensure that the momentum started with one of our days will be sustained over a longer period, thus giving you excellent value for money.
The Scheme of Work has been written to incorporate the four strands of learning but it is also written so that it is accessible to Young Leaders or Playground Buddies for example, and can offer useful ideas for incorporation into skipping clubs, PE lessons etc. or playtime in general.
Our 'Hop to the Top' competition has been set up primarily to give the child responsibility for their own improvement and to g ive the child the confidence to keep challenging themselves and improving their own scores. Additional benefits are that this kind of proactive participation amongst the children can be utilised to train Young Leaders how to assess other children and also helps to free up time-pressured teachers.
However, if schools need to address levels of inter- and intra-school competition, 'Hop to the Top' is flexible enough so it can be used as a tool for competition within and between classes, and can even be elevated to competition at cluster and family levels.
Tying in with our virtual competition, our Skipping4Schools Skipping Cup, offers children and schools a 'live' league table, an additional tool designed to further encourage proactive and consistent improvement in skipping skills and teamwork.
Cost: sent FREE OF CHARGE after a Full Day Skip coaching day booked with us.
